Well this was surprise!
First they go with Symbian (formerly Psion) and create UIQ. Then they abandon it but say they're part of the Symbian Foundation. At the same time they're releasing their first Microsoft Windows Mobile phone. Now they've joined the Google Android bandwagon.
Do SE have any direction or are they trying to have their finger in every pie? I guess there's someone on the board who's concerned that they can't release their own iPhone or Blackberry!
So what is the future for SE? WM, Android and SF phones released at the same time and see which ones live or die? Do they know? Surely they could have gone on to finish UIQ 4.0 and given it its chance in the race.
I'm glad I don't work for SE in their phone development area. I'd be going nuts! |
