It had to happen. Its just a bit of a shallow victory for other companies like Google, Samsung and Nokia though.
Apple have brought some good stuff to the industry, but I think they've damaged it more than anybody else out there. The whole industry now revolves around legal battles rather than innovation and its Apple who started it on such a large scale.

I agree with etaab. We cannot forget how Apple virtually changed the smartphone landscape. But on the flip slip it is also true that I phone has lost its sheen and exclusivity factor. Similar thing happened to Nokia once upon a time. Its time Apples and blackberry made way for new favorites like Samsung. |

They've never been the same since Jobs went. Would Jobs have apologised for the maps debacle ? Hell no ! and that was a lesser issue than the iPhone 4 antennagate problem.
For Apple to retain a decent market share they need to keep appealing to the people who are easily swayed by Apple's strong points. Which, imo are talking bulls*** about your products doing things nobody elses can, brilliant design and trying to sue everyone else out of business. Not a brilliant business plan, but it worked for the first four years.

You cant lose something you never had. They just didn't earn as much as last year.
Its pretty predictable that their run of fun couldn't last forever.

I actually like the iPhone 5 very much. I think its a bit too thin though which is more noticeable since its square. The white version isn't very impressive but the black is very very noticeable when someone has one.

I think it's down to iOS 7 or apple want to make a few changes
To iPhone 5S to compete with Samsung Galaxy 4
Either way I'm getting pretty excited about the thought of a new
Phone later this year
I'm more than happy with my 4S though its prob longest
I've kept a phone
No doubt about it iphone is my perfect partner

Apple i feel will come back with some stronger products this year and the next in order to catch up to rivals so we can't write them off just yet. There is also strong evidence that Apple have a major product in the pipleline that is game changing not sure what that will be? but the iphone was certainly a game changer in every aspect. |

@ Miss_UK - Scuffgate isn't a big deal imo. Its sad if the phone got scuffed so easily even if not mistreat, but it wouldn't put me off buying a phone. One of my supervisors at work has a black iPhone 5, it has a screen protector on the front and back but the phone is scuffed to hell sadly. I compared it to my S3 the other day, its not much thinner than mine, but looks too lanky like you said.
Anyway, smartphones have become such brilliant devices now that even two years down the road they still seem as new and feature packed as they did when they first came out, thanks to Android, WP and iOS. Which, like I posted in another thread, im not too much in a rush to upgrade my S3 to the S4.

@ Julias, Im sure they will they do sell alot of these new products once thre announced and ther are a vast of donkeys outhere who like to campout (Not me)
If I get the next phone they come up with, it will be through a network plus not till xmas
buying a iPhone straight from a Applestore is a headache my 4S gave me one, then I couldnt stop myself and
paid the sacrifice by getting one with a crap store like PhonesThatRobYou lol
@ Etaab. if your happy with ur S3 then you should just wait for the S4 like you said, funnily when I asked apple on my last trip to them last year "is it worth upgrading from a 4S to a 5" the guy said No his words was its not worth it lol and generally these stores are there to persuade you right to pay ur cash upfront for new tech? I loved his honestly
The iPhone 5 is a alright phone though but I think the next one will and can be alot better it will have to be cos it will have to work on all UK networks that get 4G later this year, ive not been able to try out 4G yet so im unsure if its a battery nightmare or not
but its not a issue though nor is the scuffing as it changeable free at apples expense
