Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 that i want to sync all my outlook contacts with. First of all i have win2k with sp2 and the latest service pack rollup release1 and a IrDA port. I have installed the full T65 software for syncronization with pc and outlook (27Mb) That was what the Ericsson support people recomeded. (Not to use the T68 but T65 software.) But it dosent help. When i have installed every thing and try to sync, it works fine until the first reboot. After i reboot it won't work any more. The sync program times out and come's up with this message "Check that there isn't anything blocking the Ir port and try again." And there isn't any thing blocking the port. I use the Ir port for picture transfer and dialup connection with the T68 so there can't be any thing wrong with the Ir port. I have changed the Ir port speed to 115.2 Kbps But the dosen't make it better. But if i uninstall and reinstall the Sync program it works fine until i reboot. I have tryed it one 3 different dell laptops and it is the same thing with all of them. And i borrowed a T68 rs232 cabel and then it works fine. But i don't wont to use the cabel when i got ir.
Anygot any ide's?
Thanks in advanced.
Best regards

I've got the same problem. I use a DELL Inspiron 7000.
I lowered the transferspeed to 19k2 and then it worked. But still, the connection is sometimes unreliable, forcing me to retry.

Just go to the sonyericsson web site and download the T65 software. You should select the full software download i think it is around 27mb. I think yo can find it here. http://www.sonyericssonmobile.com/support

I'm using Dell Inspiron 4100 running on windowsXP, Other software as follow: OutlookXP, T68 Sync Package from ericsson.
Sync Successful.
Here is the solution, it's work for me and I hope it will work for you guys too.
1. Go to device manager find infrared and reduce the speed to the lowest which is 9.6 in my system.
2.After installed the Sync Package you will notice an additional process was running in the background every time the system boot up.
So to check this go to Windows Task Manager,
Click on the Processes tab, now find a process call EPMWOR~1.exe, once you found it select it and click End Process button.
3. After this process was killed then start outlook to sync.
Hope this help. |

Windows should detect and configure the Irda port automatically. If it's not working, try and delete this device using the Device Manager. Then reboot your system and Windows will attempt to re-install or you can do that yourself using the Add New Hardware wizard. |

totonox, you are a genious!
This post of yours solved my problems with 3 laptops at work!
I can report that this little trix also works in Windows XP on a Toshiba Tecra 8100 laptop computer. |
