We gave you a little teaser on the then up-and-coming LG Viewty Smart a couple of months ago. Thank you for sticking around until the flagship’s arrival (and applause to you who know where to get bargains.) We are proud to present you the latest offspring of the LG family – the LG Viewty Smart.
Let’s look at what we get physically off the box: the GC900, a battery, a charger, a stereo handsfree, a USB cable and the user’s guide.
The LG Viewty Smart is a beauty. The 3-inch full touchscreen encapsulated by the sophisticated case of black and a silvery frame is the timeless design that is hard to fail. What makes you scream is its slimness. At a thickness of 12.4mm, it proves that size does matter.
As you can see, we have the slot for audio plug-in that doubles as the charger socket. A hint of no 3.5mm Audio jack. Negative!
We find the dedicated key for the Cube interface on the left, together with the MicroSD slot that allows an extension of memory up to 32GB.
The power switch pairs with the key lock.
The back view is looking as smart as the name. It’s indeed plastic with a faux metal finish that makes it high-end looking but still weighs little.
The quality lens of the 8 megapixeller is the contribution of Schneider Kreuznach. The LED flash is peculiarly placed in a position that may potentially be blacked by fingers. Yeah, they should have been smart enough to figure out what is wrong.
Spotlight on the battery please. It blooms.
The S-Class UI who made its entrance in LG Arena is the highlight of the handset. Seriously, it’s one of the best UIs I have come across to date. The menu is a scrollable four-row mega piece and it can place horizontally on landscape view. The homescreen is broken down to a set of four: Shortcuts, Widgets, Contacts and Multimedia with intuitive and smooth 3D accelerated graphics.
The camera is a land to explore. It has Intelligent Shot feature that automatically analyses the photographic elements and select the fittest from the various modes available.
It is further enhanced with image stabilization and 2.8 autofocus.
I would say LG Viewty Smart is what hipsters would crane their neck for. A bootylicious design with the ever-so-smooth UI. DIVX and Xvid video playback and Dolby stereo make sure it’s a multimedia blowout. With Wifi- HSDPA and GPS, it sue is there to catch every pair of eyes.

Stylish? I know it's my problem but all these touch phones do look alike to me. I think there is more difference between the W705 & W715 (I know I'm blind).

Yup, video recording isn't too great as well. |
